Digital Women & Solidarity is a pioneering initiative that strengthens the digital safety, rights, and empowerment of deaf women in Morocco—one of the most underserved and digitally exposed communities. At a time when online gender-based violence is increasing, this project directly addresses the urgent need for inclusive digital protection and awareness.
Through targeted education and hands-on training, the initiative equips deaf girls and women with critical knowledge on digital security, online risks, women’s rights, and gender equality. Beyond individual empowerment, the project creates sustainable impact by training deaf women and men as digital security trainers, ensuring knowledge transfer and long-term community resilience. This train-the-trainer model represents a first in Morocco.
The project’s reach extends further by engaging sign language interpreters, deaf educators, and civil society organizations, strengthening a collective response to digital threats. Inclusive digital learning materials developed in sign language ensure accessibility and lasting impact.
To amplify change, Digital Women & Solidarity also leads a national digital safety campaign to combat online gender-based violence, raising awareness among both deaf and hearing communities.
By investing in this initiative, partners contribute directly to reducing gender inequalities, protecting digital rights, and empowering deaf women to participate safely and confidently in the digital world
